![]() ![]() Cartoons turn into a big part of this story. Early in the book, Junior is explaining the setting and everything, and makes cartoons. Their are many people who assume things about junior, but the Indians on the reservation expect differently from him because they know him. Junior realizes the importance of expectations and role models throughout this book.Įxpectations of Junior and others are based on what they assume. Most of the parents on the reservations are drunk. There is also a lack of role models on the reservation. ![]() He wants to change that, so the Indians will be able to be treated equally. He sees that expectations on reservation are way different than they are on the reservation. He faces the issues of expectations, alcohol abuse, lack of role models, hope, just to name some. He faces many problems on the reservation, and then when he leaves to the Reardan School. Junior faces many problems as the main character. It brought up many issues about the Indian culture and racism. The Absolutely True Diary of a Part- Time Indian by Sherman Alexi was a good book. ![]()
